SEC Level 7 (I117) or equivalent


The English for Academic Preparation Program is the most academically challenging and mentally demanding program offered at SEC. The goal of EAP is that, upon completion of the program, students will be ready to accept both the social and academic challenges that they will face in the post-secondary academic world. Students will receive the training that they will need to perform at their highest potential in an English Academic Environment, while also learning how to adjust to college/university life.


Students will improve the following skills:

  • Research and essay writing skills
  • Note-taking and organized listening skills
  • Public speaking (formal and informal)
  • Basic computer skills for academic writing
  • Effective study skills
  •   Program and career decision making

Application procedure:


Students who are interested in entering college/university will need to be enrolled in the EAP Program. Only students who have successfully completed the EAP program can obtain admission to a chosen college/university.


Successful completion will be based on the following Criteria:

  • Passing grade on the EAP final exam (minimum requirement 80%)
  • Meet attendance requirements (minimum 80% attendance)
  • In class participation
  • Satisfactory completion of weekly reading & writing assignments and presentations.

Please note: Specific admission requirements may be necessary in order to obtain admission to specific programs (e.g. School of Sciences, Engineering related programs, etc.)

  • High school Diploma (translated into English)
  • High School Transcript (translated into English)
  • College Transcript, if applicable (translated into English)

Should students need assistance in choosing a college or university, we will provide the following guidance to help them achieve their academic goals:

  1. Information and counseling on determining the program of study at a school of their choice.
  2. Information on the necessary document submission in order to complete the application procedure.
     Please note: All documents/transcripts must be translated into English.
